Lupe experienced firsthand the cultural and traditional unfamiliarity with mental healthcare and psychotherapy within the Hispanic community. When she took AP Psychology in high school, she was instantly drawn to psychology- as a study to better understand not just her own struggles, but also the struggles of others. She realized that what really mattered most to her was having the opportunity to help and educate other young Hispanic teens, in the way that she wished someone could have helped her. Although Lupe works with a variety of different clients, she specializes in working with children, teens, and young adults within the Latinx community. She is a fluent Spanish speaker and also is trained in Gottman’s couples therapy- Level 1.
Lupe uses humor and transparency in the therapy room, enabling clients to feel comfortable and at ease. Clients like you love how authentic, kind, and understanding Lupe is. She has a natural way of providing a safe space for others to feel seen, gain the self awareness they are looking to really get out of therapy, and have an accountability partner to ensure that they practice the skills learned in therapy and grow into a better version of themselves, better equipped to tackle life’s challenges.
Many may not know that: Lupe has two adorable cats whom she rescued from the local neighborhood. For exercise, she does aerial arts (also known as circus arts). She also enjoys watching any marvel superhero movie.
